Game acquisition syndrome

I’m addicted :( the thing I hate myself for is the fact that I can probably spend the entire year playing games solid with the games I own, unfortunately completing or fully juicing the game has been sparse as I tend to look for the next game deal and get the joy from purchasing and less on playing the game itself.

I’ve now put myself in a game purchasing ban until I complete a giant list of games which includes the following:

  • Skyrim (PC)
  • Jelly defense (iOS)
  • Gravity Rush (PS Vita)
  • Super Mario Bros. Wii U (Wii U)
  • Mark of the Ninja (PC)
  • Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
  • Final Fantasy: Dissidia (PSP)
  • Boktai 2 (GBA)
  • Kingdom Hearts (3DS)
  • Kid Icarus (3DS)
  • Dishonored (PC)
  • Castlevania: Lord of Shadow (PS3)

I just completed Super Mario 3D Land so things are shaping up on the finishing aspect.

PS Vita

PS Vita

So last week I bought myself a PS Vita. I’ve always had it in mind to get one but was always holding out for a white one. Decided in the end that a black one made more sense in terms of the bezel not stealing too much attention from the screen.

Anyway, so far I’m loving it. Got me a Playstation Plus so I’m rocking free games for a mere £30. Quite like the whole cross buy and save concepts and I wish Nintendo would get on it soon enough.

The console is fairly souped up, the titles on it although initially lacking is beginning to grow and with a back catalogue of PSP and PS1 games, it’s a no brainer to invest in one.

PS Vita, pick up a back today

The Hobbit and steak

Monday, December 24th, 2012

For the past few years I’ve been celebrating my birthday with my closest friends, this year will be the same.

First up was a nice trip to Odeon to watch the hobbit. Really like the high frame rate, film was good too. Next was steak at Gaucho.

Tasty tasty steak
I had a really tasty spiral cut ribeye. Lots of flavour and awesomeness.

We then had desserts at Candy Cafe where I frequent for bubble tea or my “signature dish” which includes tapioca pearls, grass jelly and strawberries. Since it was my birthday I included a scoop of matcha ice cream.
The signature dessert
Tasty cakes.

So stuff that happened in 2012

Guitar that goes weel weel weel boooo

Year 2012 is the gear of guitars. Within that period I managed to pick up a tasty Manson MB-1 guitar, order my own custom guitar (still getting built) and a 7 string guitar that I’m modding to be all sparkly and black.

Sadly no holidays. Not even a fancy work trip :( furthest I’ve travelled this year is Cardiff… Or Exeter.

Haven’t done much camera wielding as I have in previous years. Just been picky. I did fulfil one of my life long goals of taking photos of Muse in the photo pit and being featured on the Flickr blog. Those were some good times.

Going to redesign this blog… Things need to be easier for me to blog…

Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates…

Still Alive…

New Years Eve at Southbank
So yes, good old email to say “look i am back, i promise more updates” followed by the inevitable relapse into radio silentology. Life is busy but I should find some time to do stuff next week as I have some time off work. Won’t be going anywhere fancy unfortunately but will certainly use the time to rest, rewrite styles for musewiki and even make some music.

Wondering if i did a list of things that happened so far and a list of what i’ve bought recently which one would be longer… probably the shopping list.

Ash live at Shepherds Bush Empire

Friday, November 26th, 2010

AshPOW and such, call me old fashioned for still wanting to see Ash live but hey, it was free ;) Though they stank of peppers and onions without Charlotte Hatherley to girl up the place they still played a rocking set with the crowd constantly moshing in overdrive, so badly that it makes you glad you weren’t at front (now I sound old, but meh! i want to keep my hips in tact!)

Of course there are outliers

Spring It Dies, Summer Arrives

Summer is fun but the damn ants get into my shoes, chocolate pain to anyone who knows which episode of House I’m referring to in the blog title.

Muse board in iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4 and iPad

Dom: Can you take out your iPhones and iPads out for Unintended please
Retina Display got me all curious as to how the resolution would be for viewing pages. Now there’s been loads of photos of the new york times and whatnot being used to compare the resolution but it doesn’t translate too well for me given that I never visit NYT. So here’s the muse board in all 3 iOS devices:
