Spring It Dies, Summer Arrives

Summer is fun but the damn ants get into my shoes, chocolate pain to anyone who knows which episode of House I’m referring to in the blog title.

Dom: Can you take out your iPhones and iPads out for Unintended please
Retina Display got me all curious as to how the resolution would be for viewing pages. Now there’s been loads of photos of the new york times and whatnot being used to compare the resolution but it doesn’t translate too well for me given that I never visit NYT. So here’s the muse board in all 3 iOS devices:

Dont eat the fish!

Dont eat the fish!

Had Dim Sum with Inn at some point, twas pretty funny because in one of the dishes (squid cakes) it came with an ickle fish! The lady said "You can eat the fish". Now, that’s what we thought she said, both of us were under the assumption that this bad boy fish was edible, but i wanted to take a photo of it before nomm’ing it, near the end the waitress took the plate away with the fish still there so we went "nooooes we wanted to eat it!". Only to find out that the fishy wasn’t edible… kinda glad I didn’t eat it. It looked like a pretty awesome garnish to eat! There were tigers and shit too on other tables, we just got the fishy! Ah wells :(

Got the keys?

Got the keys?

Got the keys! I didn’t like my previous key setup, so I changed it. I replaced the boring sandisk usb stick to a lacie key and added Totoro and a katamari sticker into the mix. I also went to ebay and got me some mighty fine green lanyards! Oh yeah, I went there.

Depeche Mode - Initiate Camera Mode

However if you use ascii art you can probably reduce the number of the characters needed and get something pretty decent. Not really the point but I thought it was quite a fun way to start blogging again. So hmm, where to start? Hiatus ahoy! Probably should tell you what’s been happening with life and such but it’s probably a bit too premature to explain it all just now. It’s good news mind, I have pretty much told a majority of folks around me but haven’t properly said or announced it because it’s not exactly official (mmm nice to explain so much and so little at the same time).

Anyways, the result in all this is basically I don’t have time to ramble on. Given that people are very used to microblogging rather than full on blogs (or rambles as such). I thought i’d keep things more in style of a tumblr slash photoblog type blog type thing. Dunno if people who subscribe to this even read this anyways and it’s better to have updates with less words than no updates at all right?

Year of the setlist 2009 So yeah, not been gigging much, one of my goals for this year is to actually go to less gigs so I’m kinda fulfilling that. Not to say that I’ll be going to gigs like a normal person (how much do you think is an average count of gigs per year? 30?) I will pretty much be ploughing the venues at every given free opportunity.

So yes, quick update… uhm, photos.. There’s one of Depeche Mode, was fun shooting at the o2, but way too hectic for a Sunday with no Jubilee line, though i still managed to watch Personal Jebus live, good times. More photo spamming to come!

152 Gigs

152 Gigs

It’d be right to say 2009 was definitely a year of gigging, given that over 40% of the time I’ll be at a gig (no doubt shooting)

Spent several painful nights jotting down all the gigs I’ve been to in 2009. The statistics side was the best bit out of it, I managed to calculate a total of 381 sets for the entire year out of the 152 gigs. May strangely being the one where I gigged the most.

The most visited venue was strangely union chapel (though I love that place so much :D ) and the most visited band was… uhm… I haven’t worked it out yet…

But yeah, this photo was taken as my second to last 365 shot. It just got so delayed after the damn gig list! Sorry folks :P

Oh and here’s the spreadsheet of the gigs, enjoy spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tUlX-uDuEpLNOAoYsjzW16w&a…

Who would have thought Borderlands could be so addictive

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Na na, na na na na na na na na
Haven’t been posting much on the blog but will hopefully get back on track with this bad boy. Right now i’m ploughing through a game called Borderlands which is sort of a first person shootemup mashed in with RPG. It’s very addictive and has got me off going on Mac land for a while (play it on Windows 7 you see!).

But yeah… i have loads of posts to update with, mainly those conclusive 2009 posts and uhm… yeah… should be updating this a bit more when i have the time. For now enjoy this photo of my Katamari t shirt. I’ve ended 365 last year and feel ever so relaxed that i don’t need to shoot something everyday nows. Though my poor camera feels every so neglected :(
