After the buzz from the 3 ether festival related gigs, it was time to settle myself back in with Loney, Dear live at Scala. They were joined by The Leisure Society and Snowbird.
I saw The Leisure Society play 3 songs during a bandstand busk and really enjoyed their show, so it was nice seeing them again supporting Loney Dear. They played quite a few songs, one of which was a cover of Gary Numan’s Cars. They asked us to try and guess what the song was and frankly at first I wasn’t able to tell it was Cars to begin with, though eventually it all clicks

Next up were Snowbird, I’ve never seen her before but wow was she pretty. Her voice was soothing and soulful which was accompanied by soft chillaxed notes of a keyboard, mmm electric piano.
She was super photogenic and the lights also helped a bunch, she seemed very nervous and chatty at the same time as she enthusiastically engages with the audience with every opportunity (as well as making some herself). Anyway, reviews should be short with the hd videos doing most of the work:

Next up were Loney, Dear, they were originally going to play 9 songs only but was happy enough to play extra longer, Emil (the singer) got extra excited at one point and even did a Meter Marks Ok in the middle of the set even though he was supposed to perform that around the encore.
The charming Swedish lead singer constantly made jokes during intervals, he just seemed so happy and relaxed all the time. Here’s Meter Marks OK:

During the encore he played one of my favourite upbeat songs I am John and suddenly out came the camera again ready to capture the moment.

Was really happy after the show, well happy and tired :p but I’m always tired!
