O HAI BOBBLETRONICS (10/365)

O HAI BOBBLETRONICS (10/365)

Today was the one free day for me to go out and head to the miserable post office delivery centre to pick up a package I missed. The queue was boring and cold but eventually I got through, they spelt my name wrong on the card even though the address label was spelt correctly. It was a HUGE jiffy bag! I immediately ninja’d on the return address to see who’s it from and lo and behold, the almighty Maccah/Court from the land down under sent me a lovely xmas/birthday present!

I wanted to take a photo of it so didn’t open the present yet but read the letter, it was so nice of her to write a super long letter, bung in a cd full of tunes and send me gifts too.

Once at home I opened it up and boom! a Gorilla pod!! I’ve always wanted one of those and got jealous that my friend inn got one from her "guy" (i think thats how she call him). But yeah, this definitely cheered me up and made my day!

Tonight I’m going to see Pete Doherty and won’t likely be back till around 2-3am :(

Once again, super thanks to Court for being such a star in sending me this, will be returning the favour once I get some time to actually start writing haha! :$

If any of you want to send me gifts, feel free to haha :p

Howling Bells – Cities Burning Down

New video released, Juanita looks sparkly and pretty as ever! I’m glad this song is on the album, it’s been played live for a long time (and even went as a bside). Check them out at http://www.howlingbells.net and you get a free download of their single too!

Procrastinator Assassinator (6/365)

Procrastinator Assassinator (6/365)

if you’re killing time
make sure it’s worth killing

lately i’ve been very busy at work, typically arriving home at 8pm, this leaves me with "technically" 4 hours to do whatever i can in this tiny time frame. i have a large backlog of photos and blog entries that need finishing, a stack of christmas cards i still haven’t got round to making and sending out (i will send them mind so look out!), a lot of emails to reply to and simply not enough time to do it all.

some action is required, so i’ve decided to get back to productive me and start compiling todo lists with manageable deadlines for me to complete the task. the main ones include:
1. finish christmas cards and send out tomorrow
2. finish november photos and blog entries on sunday
3. email outstanding emails by friday
4. clean up my room
5. continue drafting up ideas for 365

the main time waster i’m suffering right now is the likes of facebook. though the time spent there is pretty minimal, it still hogs a bit of time so that needs to go. so in this photo i’ve stuck a nice label on top of my monitor to remind me to stay on task. the boats are really there for show, i learnt to fold them when doing my photo set / short story "lost coastlines".

Zavvi closing down 22 stores today!

Poor Zavvi

Zavvi, the music retail chain store that bought Virgin Megastores, has announced that it will be closing down 22 stores in the UK, effectively rendering 178 staff members redundant. They will also be doing 50% sales on all remaining stores tomorrow in order help out on the situation, but situations sounds dire, chances are this could be liquidation stock :( Though i’m usually an avid HMV shopper I still loved Zavvi, hopefully some miracle can happen to save the company.

Site plug alert: My friend nic made a blog (i provided him with the hostin g:D), he’s an amazing photographer and does the cutest and coolest shots that will make you scratch your chin to how he managed to pull that one off, make sure you check out his site to see what he’s up to in the world of photography (or the world in general, whatever floats his boat). On other news, do check my 365 set for my latest outgoings and whatnot. I will start doing catch up blogs on gigs I’ve been to a few months ago (teehee).

Sometimes, people make a war

Amazing, absolutely amazing. Apparently they make war for business. This is “Speak” a random Hungarian Rapper, his lyrics are truly inspiring and heartwarming. I’ve been singing this with my coworkers all day long. Good times.

Update: Just managed to learn how to play this brilliant tune on guitar, though someone has already covered it :D

Ra Ra Riot – Dying is Fine

Check them out if you haven’t already. There’s a cellist and violin lady in the band, luckily I won’t be comparing them to Arcade Fire (like any other band that has a string player as noted by the Young Republics). Don’t forget to check my project365 photos, I’m not going to blog each one here because that would be a silly number of posts!

Amanda Palmer plays Apocalypse Please at NYE

Wow, perfect way to start New Years. Lucky folks get to see her cover Muse, not my video mind but I apologise for the heckling and lyric puns before the song hehe. I shall be seeing her at the Electric Ballroom which will be all kinds of acebeans!
