Got my mobile business exam at 2pm, tis a 2 hour long exam and I’m hoping to use every minute of it like last time. Usually I’d leave the venue around 30 minutes answering everything at break neck speeds haha. But its final year where things really matter so I better take my time answering them, though having said that I better manage my time better! For my ecommerce exam I went a bit ott on the first two questions and sort of gave up on the last one which was worth quite alot of marks and all too!
For luck purposes I will be bringing my little duck to the exam and hopefully I’ll do well. Not really a believer in luck but there are times where you get questions that you know you’re good at and some that you vaguely have an idea of. I should be fine though since I know the topic pretty well. Plus the lecturer is my supervisor and I have a good idea about how he likes his answers and all.
God its weird waking up at 9 to revise, I better start sleeping early now, though I doubt thats going to happen what with the coursework I need to do afterwards *shudders* haha. Anyway, better do some more revision before I head off to the venue.
Seems like I have it in a few hours time. Better get some rest for the event and all, dont wanna wake up late and all haha. Still undecided on what to wear, probably a shirt and a dapper looking scarf with blazer Going to bring laptop in too to do any demonstrations if needs be. God I really should have prepared something, but nah, I like the idea of demonstrating a project from the back of my head. More excitement. I’ll be one of those over enthusiastic people who ask questions to start the presentation off. Something like “who here knows web2.0 lol!?” haha.
After all that, its back to database work. I’m still fighting this damn query!
Update 8:52am: Yup, think I’m going to wear my scarf for presentation, I’m usually good at breaking loopholes in terms of dresscodes. At college we had a shirt and tie policy but I managed to evade that rule the entire 2 years I had at 6th form, I just kinda wore them under my cooler clothes and when prompted I’d just flash my tie under my top haha. How awesome am I (not haha). Better start preparing what to say and stuff for presentation, got an hour to prepare and I’m off to uni and all. Might bring my tripod just so take photos.
Update: Right presentation was over, it went pretty cool, most of the other posters weren’t too bad, though each one had their own flaw I must say. Alot of people were looking at my poster and commenting on how effective it was in sustaining user attention and all The presentation itself was pretty good, the main person in charge of the poster presentations did mine and was very pleased with it, I was able to demonstrate the project, show him some of it working and yeah, stuff. He said I was muy creative and interesante. Got really bored near the end so I just took photos of stuff
Slowly completing my other projects now, been doing the crazy sudoku one now
It wasn’t too hard to implement I must say, though I did use the dirtiest coding ever to build it, nonetheless I completed the juice of the system and all I need is to finish bits and bobs off, write the report and bam, another project out of the way. I’m suppose to be making posters right now so its pretty awesome that I’m way ahead of time. Got lots of presentations and demonstrations to do this week. Including some crazy poster presentation and a database presentation. Will most likely need to look representable so ties all the way (leather one to make it slightly rock and roll haha). Watching loads of Studio Ghibli films lately, felt really inspired to watch them again
Still wanna goto Studio Ghibli in Japan
At a disturbing word count of 38, 836 words, a disturbingly awesome poster presentation waiting to be printed off and a nights and nights of staying up late coding, report writing, and head scratching the report is FINALLLLLLLLLLLLY done! Woo!
Theres still other bits and bobs to finish, like database reports, web technology reports as well as prototype demonstrations but they are all small projects that can be done in a desperate night of struggle (like all the great projects men had set off to do in the last minute), but yeah. This was the hardest project I’ve ever done and I’m so glad to just hand it over to the uni people for it to be marked. Bit of an anti climax to be honest. I was expecting this rush after handing it in but nowt. Ah well.
I better do some relaxing now, my head is all tensed up, ready to explode so I’m definitely calling this a day, a of relaxing, a day of kings shall we say haha. A day where I can toss my shoes in the air and just set myself free (is a more toned down non hippy free love kind of way).
Ooh waiting for an awesome parcel arrive now Thank god I handed my project in early otherwise I would have went to a crazy Royal Mail car chase (with my imaginary car). Anyway… WOOO!!!!!
I’m up to 20,031 words… I’ve done about 58 pages of work. My brain is slowly melting, in a bad sort of way. Hopefully going to get it finished tommorow, and printed off / binded on Wednesday so I dont have to endure this slow death anymore, plus I’ve got so much to look forward to after this report, such as writing more reports, doing a poster presentation, doing a database presentation, doing a web technologies report, doing a database report and last but not least, doing 3 exams :).
Oh but after that its alllll good. I’ve promised myself to do quite alot of things once its all over and done with, this includes (might as well write this down so I have something to look forward to):
- Playing my Nintendo Wii, I’ve been neglecting it quite alot and it deserves some attention
- Making some music, I’ve bought quite alot of music gear but really havent had the time to use it
- Learn the violin again, I’m getting right into it once again so that will be fun
- Building more sites (shockingly site building doesnt end there, I’m hoping to build more sites in my spare time, including my first ever site I’ve made, I’m hoping to get it nice and web2.0erised)
- Watching loads of films I bought
- Photography; you dont buy a £500 dslr camera and just leave it there to collect dust. I have a macro filter and its spring, time to take photos of bugs and small stuff haha
- Gigs, hopefully all for free.. still trying to pull off this whole free gigs for 2007 thing, I’m seeing Muse soon so that should be fun
- BBQs, loads of them, gotta love a good BBQ.
- Watch Phantom of the Opera (again); I’m really hoping to see this, lets hope my professor can get me some cheap tickets
That or I’ll just buy it full price. Best seats all the way
- Redesign my room; its a mess
- And last but not least… lounge about all day just for the sake of knowing that you can! I havent had that feeling ever since I finished my second year at Uni, all I did was relax before I started work at IBM, there was nothing to do work wise and it was just bliss.
So yeah, I’ll keep this post near the top just to put my spirits up in getting this whole thing finished. Nice thing to look forward to and all.. mmm… lounging about haha.
