Work have been lovely by provided me a lovely all expenses paid trip to New York. It was the first time I will be flying on an airplane and more importantly, it’s been a long time since I’ve been abroad! Most of the week was work related however during the evenings I was able to catch loads of places out and do as much touristing as I could. I believe the main theme of new york was to really abuse the tourist status as well as recreate as many things “Friends” related as possible! I don’t know but it just seemed that Friends was one of the first thing that comes to mind when you think of New York and since I’m quite a fan of the show I was hoping to do as many things that had a Friends reference. I’m going to embed them within the post, see how many you can get and post them on the comments section

Right, being stuck in the tube due to signal delays allow me time to write a quick and dirty todo list and things to pack list for when I goto New York. Not excited about it yet, still feeling calm as a cow (and boy that’s CALM), guess I’ll only start feeling excited when I’m on the plane for the first time hehe.
Anyway, here’s the list, sadly I honestly don’t need much, only clothes and other bits and bobs:
Things to bring:
- Plane tickets
- Passport
- Wallet with some $$
- Travel insurance documents
- Laptop from work
- Clothes
- Toilet stuff :p
- Suitcase
- Dslr Camera and extra CF cards / charger
- Travel guide for New York
- 3 odd travel adaptors
- Phone
- iPod and cable (laptop needs itunes)
Things to do
- Check if theres a suitcase available, if not buy
That’s the list for now, will add more whenever needed

Just to make the process easier for people who have no idea what to get me I thought I’d make a wish list haha :p The problem with me is that its incredibly hard to get me a present since I’m pretty content with what I have now and anything I want are quite expensive which I’ll probably buy by myself (don’t like receiving big presents :S, feel a bit guilty and all).
Anyway, here’s a lovely list of things I want, I won’t promise that I wont buy it myself but I’ll try my best haha, you never know though, i might actually get all of it.
- Mario Galaxy
- Metroid Prime
Guitar Hero for Ps3 or Wii (having a tough time thinking of which one to get)
iPod classic silver
- Kung Fu hustle on Bluray
- Harry Potter on Bluray (any of them)
- Die Hard on bluray
Singster on PS3
- A decent tripod
- Filters 58mm
- Mac keyboard
- Harry Potter books
- Game vouchers :p
Make note how I didn’t put Mac Pro there haha, would be silly.
I think everyone should write their own list just to save people the hasslehoff, and who knows maybe they’ll get what they want
Update: See! I already bought guitar hero!

Another year has gone, people need to start using 2007 when writing up dates as well as look out for food that dont have the year on their expiry date. Never fond of sevens. So I’m guessing this year will be a shabby one haha. Some new year resolutions (which I’m most likely not going to follow):
- No more heavy purchasing for at least when I’ve finished uni
- Do really well at uni *tries to do some work*
- Make some music of my own
- Take lots of photos with amazing camera
- Be happy
Think that’s all for me, anymore and it’s simply something I cannot achieve. doubt I’d achieve them anyway.

Yup, three words and three words only. Was quite an awesome day I must say haha. (This is suppose to confuse you btw)

Right, think I best update this bad boy some more, gave it a nice new theme (dunno why but im into green lately) Second day in uni and slightly panicing about project stuff. Some ideas include:
- Revamp a guitar site my brother did
- Revamp crazybobbles
- Revamp some site some lecturer wanted me to try out
I’ve had a word with my brother about the first two, and it seems like they’re not suitable projects to do due to stuff like plagerism and lack of clients. So I guess I’m stuck with the bottom one.
Feel really sad that I’ve neglected this blog, perhaps I should link it up some more or something. Though most of the things here are quite personal and all.

I managed to put this guide up on Muse board, but thought it would be useful in the future for those who want to go to a festival (for the first time)
Essential Things to Bring
Here’s a list of things that are essential for festivals, try and keep them in “weekend quantities”, afterall, you are travelling light. its a bitch bringing too much stuff. Another tip is to make sure EVERYTHING you bring is something you dont mind parting with or getting completely ruined. so no fancy clothes. always assume that you’ll be soaking wet with all your gear stolen.
- Yourself: – the rest is useless if you’re not there
- Your tickets: – no ticket no entry (unless you’re guestlisted)
- Your travel tickets: – no travel no entry (unless you walk)
- Cash: – probably the most important thing is cash, best to leave your wallet filled with cards and important stuff at home, just have cash about for purchasing stuff, but yeah, most important thing in case of any emergancy (out of loo roll, food, lost travel tickets etc)
- Tent: make sure you’ve got a complete tent set and all, practice in your garden to make sure its all complete, make sure you know what you’re using for banging pegs down, rocks are usually good, but a mallet if you have one handy
- Loo paper:- a must, last thing you want to do is run out of that, perfect for spills and wiping human fluids.
- Baby wipes: – slightly different from loo paper, these babies will make sure you stay fresh for the festival
- Torch: – essential for the dark
- Mobile phone: – keep the phone tacky and full of battery, there are spots for you to recharge and all obviously
- Plastic bags: – carry a few, they’ll be useful for throwing stuff away or collecting stuff, they also double up as socks when its really wet
- Bin liners: – the bigger bag, more strong and useful
- Gaffer tape: – perfect for fixing you tent or sealing your pockets during gigs
- Raincoat/poncho: – better then brollies, always assume festivals to be wet
- Warm clothes: – its cold at night, get nice and snuggly
- Extra clothes: – socks and underwear in particular, socks mainly, one for each day might not be a good idea at times.
- Towel: – dry and also can be used as a pillow or headgear
- Sleeping matt/lilo:- nice back and all
- Large bottles for collecting/exposing water
- Firelighters, to start fires (useful ones)
- Suncream when its sunny…
- Tough String:- useful for tying stuff up and can be used as a washing line if it rains
Here are some optional things you could bring
- Condoms, safe love
- Lube… especially if you’re into bum love
- Dyodrant, stay fresh
- Padlock, extra safe tents involve padlocking the zips, though it might piss people off
- Wellies, always assume its wet, they look cool too if its dry and sunny. Wont get ruined and perfect for keeping your feet dry from wet mud
- Pro plus: stay awake to see more acts and all
- Surf board: for crowd surfing
- Laptop: for surfing
- DS Lite: for wifi battles
Next up is the food and drinks, sometimes its just best to buy from a local supermarket at the festival, but here are soem thigns to buy:
- Lots of water! useful for washing yourself up and drinking, vital to have at least 2litres per person, per day
- Biscuits: the daddy of survival, biscuits superceded corned beef as teh vital ration ever since the CJB outbreak
- Cereal bars, very rich in nuetrients and will keep you going most of the time.
- Gum: stay fresh, no stinky breathe
- In metal gear solid 3, you’ll notice that one of the best rations for snake in the game apart from rats and those random crab are the instant noodles. So perhaps these if you’d like some hot food in your stomach
Things you must do
Some stuff you need to do before, during and after the festival
Before
- Make sure you know how to get there, plan your journeys, if you’ve got tickets already, make sure you arrive early so you wont miss it
- Make sure you check everything from the check-list, last thing you want to do is forget you’ve brought loo paper and be forced to use leaves
- Charge all electrical stuff, mobile in particular. Bring batteries for things such as cameras
- Plan the places you want to go, its annoying planning at the gig, most festivals release time tables before hand so you can plan, they obviously change on the day so keep that in mind too
- Flush your digestive systems out, keep it empty so you wont use the toilet much
- Having said that, eat lots too, make sure you have enough energy
- Sleep alot! its going to be a long weekend
At the festival
- This one is important, remember the landmark and area you’ve camped your tent in, take a photo of the area if you like, just to make sure it sticks into your head. Most people will be using the same tent they bought from argos so you’ll need to make sure you’ve put something on the tent that makes it recognisable to you. Glow in the dark is a good idea but might be bad as it attracts attention. Make sure you remember the signs they lay out
- Have a meeting point when you’re at the festival, usually thats back at the camp site, however its better to have one at the festival too so you dont need to hike your way back, its however best to just stick together.
- Dont camp near paths, drunken people might fall onto it and its an easy for people to steal your things
- Its handy to camp near the toilets if you dont mind the smell, though it WILL stink on day 3
- Camping in a high spot may prevent your tent from being flooded
- Be friends with the people aroudn you, setup a neighbourhood watch type thing in case people start stealing stuff
- Guys, go take a manwash, would love to check that place out, mainly for feeling ultra refreshed. not for the ladies, some of them look butter and most likely tired from washing smelly rockers
- Enjoy the gig
After the festival
- Clean up, be nice to the environment
- Make sure you have everything, last thing you want to do is go “SHIIIIIT” in a train carridge because you left your wallet or girlfriend at the festival
- Throw all your garbage away, you’re tired already, last thign you wanna do is lug garbage with you
