Joanna Newsom live at Royal Festival Hall. Was so glad I went to both shows, the harp is such a magical instrument, even though it’s a monster to tune (chuckled at the thought of bringing a spare harp). Both nights included a cheerful Q&A session which all involved cheese.
I enjoyed the second night the most since she played Emily and Peach, Plum, Pear. Can’t wait to see her again, hopefully playing more from the 2nd and 3rd CD of her latest triple album whammy crazy album cd type thing. More photos since I’m a man with few words (to quote Bill Compton before he starts glamouring the police officer and taking his gun and stuff)…

Zoooeeyy! M Waaaard! Whilst everyone else went to ATP to watch she & him play there, I was stuck in London enjoying their first sold out London show. Was quite an awesome set, playing all the best songs of Volume One and Two. There was even an M Ward song thrown in there and a cover of Roll Over Beethoven. The show was showered with screams of “I love you zooey”. Poor M Ward! We love M Ward too 🙂

The Pipettes are fun live, despite the crazy amount of band member changes. Somebody needs to sort the lights out at Hoxton. Anyway, here’s a video i shot whilst pulling shapes (had to put the camera down so i could do that). It’s nice seeing things in a different perspective.
Some more photos too

Sarah Blasko live at Islington Academy, Sarah does the most amazing dance which involves walking, BUT SHE’S NOT MOVING ONE BIT! I call it the Sarah Blasko Dance! Sarah played mainly songs from her latest album “As Day Follows Night” and did two cabaret style covers, including Xanado!
There were strings involved too (compared to the borderline show which didn’t have any) and i probably got a bit excited when I saw them (in fact, one of the violin ladies said so herself). Good times!
More photos and an HD video i took of her doing said dance:

Owen Pallett live at Koko, quite a lovely set despite the fact that he played in Koko. Listening to Lewis Takes His Shirt Off is all kinds of awesome. Owen was very engaging to the audience and played an awesome set. Good times. I played around with the settings for this show, tried to keep the iso lower than iso3200 (which i usually shoot in) to get better quality shots, mmm i miss lower iso’s 🙁
