Self Portrait?

Self Portrait?

A portrait of someone who doesn’t want to be seen. Unlike most people who’ve got a portrait of themselves somewhere uploaded online, I always choose not to have my photos shown. I’m simply an online avatar until you’ve actually met me, nothing can ever beat meeting a someone in person. This is a submission to the Musers’ Playground

Polysics at Carling Academy

Part 2 of the 2 gigs in one week week. I managed to catch up with Michelle to eat some sushi and check out Polysics. They were epiccly jumpy last time and this time I heard more of their stuff so will appreciate it more. The gig was excellent as usual and everyone was crazy during the gig. I took loads of photos but eventually had to hide and move from the front to the middle of the venue since the security guard caught me hehe. Luckily they couldnt confiscate my camera hehe. Anyway, here’s some photos

We went to some pub afterwards and had a chat with Michelle and her friends from Virgin. I managed to get a Big Issue card thingy the big issue sellers wear and michelle was up for wearing it and looking like a hobo hehe. All in all a good day for gigging and photo taking! The keyboardist was cute and tiny as ever! and the lead singer was fun with his engrish!

Okkervil River live at Scala

I decided to go see them the day before they were playing, tickets were still on sale and I really enjoyed the song Alice put on my mix cd so I decided to pay them a gigging visit. The gig was awesome, I was sly enough to check out their latest setlist and make a playlist out of it so I knew some songs during the gig. I managed to smuggle my dslr camera using my usual smuggling technique and got loads of photo action. They played at Scala, Kings Cross, the beauty of this venue was that there wasn’t a gap between the band and the fans, we were literally next to the stage, meant I could take some nice shots. The lighting was amazing (it’s a club so it should have epic lighting) so the photos turned out really good. I got some real crispy action!

I really enjoyed the gig, will definitely catch them again next time they play! Made me listen to their stuff some more afterwards, though I had another gig lined up on the same week which I only bought! Got to love impulsive gig attending. Some epic songs during the gig were Black and A Stone
